Chris Demmons, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, is a 1988 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree and commission as a U.S. Army Field Artillery Officer, he served on active duty for ten years. He commanded two howitzer batteries and served in a multitude of staff positions from battalion to corps level. Chris successfully completed the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, and the Combined Arms Service and Staff School. Additionally, he is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Airborne School, Air Assault School, and Ranger School. He is a combat veteran who participated in Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989.
After leaving active duty, Chris spent five years as a Senior Operations Manager for two Fortune 500 companies. He managed warehouse operations in two regional, hard line distribution centers for Wal-mart and transportation operations in a high volume, metropolitan cartage facility for DHL. Chris also worked as a Site Manager in Iraq for Secure Global Distribution. He managed all aspects of warehouse, transportation and security operations for Baghdad’s largest logistical staging area in support of Multi-National Force-Iraq’s reconstruction efforts in 2004.
Chris joined the Orion team as a Candidate Recruiter after returning from Iraq in 2005. He has helped hundreds of transitioning Military Officers find a civilian career, and now also works with civilian Engineering candidates throughout the Eastern US.
